USB dongle for Windows & Linux

Hi community,

I would like to know more on RMP installation and setup for Linux.

Reading through the Linux (Ubuntu) & Linux (Debian) guide for RMP installation, it seems like the USB dongle used for Linux is by Yubikey which differs from the Windows INtime dongle.

Is the USB dongle for Linux environment different from the standard Windows INtime USB dongle?

And for the standard INtime USB dongle, can we utilize it in a Linux environment?

  • or the rsi.lic is tied only to a Yubikey USB in Linux

Thank you for your help and much appreciated on the clarification.

@gregory

Yes, the USB dongle for Linux is different from the USB dongle for Windows. In Windows, we utilize/share the INtime USB dongle. In Linux, we use a Yubikey, with support for other FIDO2 vendors coming in the 10.7.2 release.

When you purchase the RMP runtime license for your system, it is valid for Windows or Linux, not both.

Good question!

Hi Scott,

Appreciate the feedback on this and thank you for the clarification between Windows and Linux runtime license.

May I know (for Windows - we are able to request for a software trial key), can we request the same for Linux as well for a trial key?

Many thanks!
