I cannot find documentation regarding support for Windows 11. Is there a specific RMP version that I should expect to work on Windows 11 (or an earlier version that I should not expect RMP to work on Windows 11)?
Is support for Windows versions totally dependent on the INtime version?
Hi Todd,
INtime largely determines Windows compatibility, though the RMP version and hardware also play a role. TenAsys added Windows 11 support in INtime 7.
The CPU and EtherCAT NIC must be supported by the selected INtime release, and some compatibility changes are tied to specific RMP versions. For example, RMP 10.5.2 added support for Intel 2.5 Gbps NICs using INtime 7.1. RMP 10.6.0 also improved INtime 7.1 shared-memory handling, so that may be a reasonable cutoff depending on the system configuration.
There is no single RMP version cutoff based on Windows 11 alone. For a new system, we recommend the latest RMP release with INtime 7 and supported hardware.
We are also working on adding a Windows 11 compatibility FAQ to our documentation to make this information easier to find.
